Slow sand filter water

Slow sand filter water Video Clips.

Unit prototype that I built to help me get a better feel for what kind of filtration rate (GPM / sq ft) I would expect that to be seen in a larger system (eg, rainwater harvesting.) This may be seen only as 0.5 GMP / square which is quite low. I will try various amounts of media. In order to get 2 ... Max 3 GPM / square gravel, sand and activated carbon. The ability to surf is good, but again, is not really necessary if you are constantly running something like, oh, mud, through the filter. The ideahowever, was that the rinse water could be collected (so that the exhaust pipe in the middle, side) will settle out the solids, then rerun the clear water through the filter.
